Ahhh, summer.

13 June 2010

Captain's Log: Whiskeytown Lake was beautiful today... if you don't believe me just ask any one of the 100+ boaters on the water. Other than being extremely busy on the water, the day couldn't have been better. The water was cool and refreshing.

Christopher enjoyed swimming around in the safety of his lifejacket. I tried getting him to swim without the lifejacket but he had different ideas. He cried and I dunked him... I think he was just tired and cranky. We'll keep trying.

Alicia is a lobster... actually not too bad, just a healthy glow.

Love to you all! Come out and join us next time.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Captain's Log: 12 June 2010

I made it through my last lifeguarding class, and finished early!! Yahoo!!

And since I finished early... I decided to hook up to the boat and go to Whiskeytown for a well deserved cool down. The water was fantastic... chilly but it felt great. The boat ran like a brand new one. (Thanks Dad for fixing her up and doing a great tune up.)

To my siblings (and your kids) and my friends: Whenever you're ready for trip to the lake, just give me a shout and we'll go! Love to you all!!

Quick side note: Alicia and Christopher went up to Dunsmuir today to see all the trains. It only cost 1 dollar to do everything! They both had a great time and they are already looking forward to going next year.

Last day of Lifeguard training... 2010

Saturday, June 12, 2010:

Okay! Enough already! This is to be my last Lifeguard Training day of the year. I feel like I ran a marathon because I taught 4 Lifeguard training classes and 2 WSI classes this year. I do enjoy teaching and I get a sense of accomplishment after each class is done... it will feel especially good today when I finish the last one.

I want to get the boat out tomorrow. We'll see. The weather is supposed to be fantastic, which means everybody and their brothers will be out... that's okay, the lake is full and there is plenty of water for everyone!

Alicia is taking Christopher up to Dunsmuir today for some sort of train thing while I'm at work. He's super excited. I guess there is one train that is pint sized that he can ride on... he'll love that!

Well, gotta go. Thanks for reading!

Looking forward to summer.

Friday, June 11, 2010:

First blog; bare with me.

Christopher and I had a great day today. We started off the day at the YMCA where I coached the swim team and Christopher played in the KidZone and swam. Then we went to Turtle Bay Exploration Park. I had never been there before, but Christopher had been a few times. He showed me around like he owned the place. I'll try to post pictures from the park later.

The local news announced that there was a RED FLAG WARNING for the Sacramento Valley today... I suppose that means Summer is here.

I'm glad it's here too! I am looking forward to getting the boat out on the water and enjoying the summer.

Alicia is doing well with the pregnancy. The baby is starting to kick and move more.

Happy Summertime everyone!!
